Take Note March Is Women's History Month
March is home to Pi Day, the Ides of March, Johnny Appleseed Day, Waffle Day, and St. Patrick’s Day to name just a few of the things we can celebrate in March. March is also Women’s History Month, so today The Village at Odenton Station Blog is focusing on ways to make note of that, right here in Odenton, MD.

Ways to Celebrate Women’s History Month
Thank a woman.
It’s an easy thing to do, but can mean a lot. Women do a lot for others and the world at large. Look for someone who inspires you and find a way to thank them, whether that be in an email, a thank-you note, or in person. Be sure to be genuine and specific.
Read about influential women.
Women’s history is human’s history, so read up on the figures you may have heard of but don’t know much of. Start with Bad Girls Throughout History: 100 Remarkable Women Who Changed the World by Ann Shsenn. Its beautiful illustration and design will make even picking up and opening the book a beautiful experience. You can also check out Amazon’s best sellers for books about women in history to find an enlightening and educational read.
Part of being a support to women, individually and as a whole, is simply listening without getting defensive or without feeling the need to give your opinion. It could mean looking for women and women of color to support running for local government positions, or it could mean supporting their works of art financially or verbally. Speak out and defend women who are being unfairly attacked, online or in person. Make friends with women in our apartment community and beyond and appreciate them for who they are.
We appreciate all of the wonderful women who make The Village at Odenton Station their home — today we celebrate you! Thanks for reading today’s post!
